Studio Ghibi’s Ni no Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch
Studio Ghibi’s first foray into video games has officially been confirmed for a US release this Winter and I’m incredibly excited. I’m a big fan of Miyazaki films and to play a video game that promises the same grandiose story and art style as his movies is like a dream come true.
Sometimes I feel video games are becoming better vehicles to tell stories than films because they allow you to participate in the stories, rather than watch it all unfold. I become more invested in the stories because I am the main character and I’ve found myself becoming more attached to my supporting characters because they have actually been by my side fighting along with me and sharing my hardships.
I always feel that video games are another medium for art and become saddened when people (especially those who have never played one) are quick to judge them and the people who play them. As someone who has loved and played video games his entire life, I would suggest to those people to casually try it out. You might find yourself wrapped up in an amazing adventure you can’t find anywhere else.
