Year in Concerts 2011

If you know me, you know that I love going to concerts.  I didn’t really go out much in 2011, but the shows that I went to were pretty amazing.  Here’s a fun recap of all the concerts I went to and some photos I took.

Bands shown above:

  • Mumford & Sons
  • Foo Fighters
  • Old Crow Medicine Show
  • Cage The Elephant
  • My Morning Jacket
  • Greg Laswell
  • Reggie Watts
  • Lenka
  • Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes
  • Mariachi El Bronx

I think the only band that I didn’t take photos of was the Avett Brothers.  All in all, I had a lot of fun at these shows.

If you plan on using any of these photos, I kindly ask that you give me credit for them.

Favorite lyrics: ”I never wanna die / I’m on my knees / I never wanna die / I’m dancing on my grave / I’m running through the fire / Forever, whenever / I never wanna die” from Walk

Favorite memory: I went to see the Foo Fighters for the very first time when they were on their acoustic tour in Berkeley.  I was talking to my friend Moujan and mentioned how cool it would be to meet Dave Grohl.  As soon as I say that and walk around the corner, I am face-to-face with the man as he pushes his daughter on a stroll.  It was the only time in my life where I have been star struck.  I completely froze up and could only smile at him as he walked past me.  Luckily, I was able to get his autograph at the end of the show.

When you became a fan: September, 1999

Foo Fighters - Bridge Burning (Live on Letterman)

I know I’ve said this multiple times now, but the Foo Fighters are still one of the best rock bands that exist today.
